The Laggan Church Partnership (LCP) was formed in 2024 when the Church of Scotland Trustees no longer required the building for their purposes and put it on the open market. A group of local people got together to save the historic building for the future use of the Laggan and wider Badenoch communities. As a result, the building can still be used for weddings and for funerals which can be either Christian or Humanist.
Various fundraising events will be held each year, to support the upkeep of the building maintaining it as weather tight and in good repair. These could be exhibitions by various local groups, concerts, plays or other celebrations - get in touch if you would be interested in hiring the church as a venue.
Laggan Church will, in the future, become the home of the Laggan Heritage local archive, from which displays about the local culture and history will be created and exhibited.
Laggan church can be booked for funeral services. The arrangements can be made through your funeral director. A charge of £200 would be levied for the use of the church including any heating or lighting necessary.
Booking to hold your wedding at Laggan church can be made directly with Laggan Church Partnership on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost of such a booking is £500 which include availability of the building in advance, for rehearsals and access to arrange flowers.
Laggan church can be booked for religious and non-religious celebrations for a half day or a full day for either £50 or £100. On an hourly basis, the church can be booked for £12.50 per hour.
